Join Mariah Hlatywayo for a soulful night of music as she returns to The Ellington Jazz Club to launch her second EP, I’d be Counting Still. Featuring music inspired by her Sri Lankan heritage and studies as a jazz vocalist, this collection includes original songs about Mariah’s journey in her christian faith.
Known for her genre-blending sound—where gospel, folk, jazz, pop, and Latin rhythms meet—Mariah crafts music that is both spiritually rich and rhythmically magnetic. At this exclusive launch event, audiences will be the very first to hear tracks from the new EP, performed live before they are officially released on all streaming platforms.
In the spirit of joyful collaboration, the night will also include a few artistic surprises from Mariah and a lineup of special guests. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering her music for the first time, this is more than a launch—it’s a heartfelt celebration of faith, music and storytelling.

Artist Bio:
Mariah Hlatywayo (lutch-why-oh) is a singer-songwriter and drummer from Perth, Western Australia. She draws on her Christian faith and life experiences to produce a unique sound that references many different musical styles including gospel, jazz, pop, world, folk and country.
Mariah grew up in a musical family and graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2015 as a jazz vocalist. Her debut single ‘My One and Only One Jesus’ won the Lennon award in the gospel/inspirational category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 2022 and the title track of her debut EP ‘Ain’t Nothing But a Cloud’ was nominated for a WAM song of the year award in the Hiphop/new R&B category in 2023. Stream her debut album ‘My Cup Runs Over’ now on all streaming platforms and stay tuned for her second EP ‘I’d Be Counting Still’ to be released on all streaming platforms in July 2025!
