PERTH INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL AT THE ELLINGTON

For the first time, the Lachlan Glover Quartet joins forces with popular Jazz Singer, Jessie Gordon, to bring you some of the greatest jazz tunes ever written! Be Prepared to witness high-energy swinging jazz, blistering tempos, and heartbreaking ballads. The band features some of Perth’s finest jazz musicians accompanying the wonderfully talented Jessie Gordon.

Jessie Gordon is a singer and songwriter, poet and producer who brings her love of old world roots music into the 21st Century. She has toured the world singing jazz, blues and her original compositions and is a multi-award winning performer. Jessie has recorded over ten albums internationally in Spain, Germany, Singapore and Australia. Jessie’s confident and effervescent performance style makes her a joy to watch for audiences everywhere.

Band Leader, Saxophonist and Trumpeter, Lachlan Glover, is a 4-time James Morrison Scholarship Finalist at Generations in Jazz and holds the record for the youngest ever. After completing his studies at the prestigious James Morrison Academy, (for which he was granted exceptional entry at the age of just 16), Lachlan returned to Perth where he has become a prominent figure on the jazz scene, regularly featuring with a variety of bands and musicians across Perth and Australia.

Jackson Van Ballegooyen is one of Perth’s finest Jazz Pianists. He has joined James Morrison on multiple national tours and in 2018 placed as a finalist in the prestigious James Morrison scholarship competition. Jackson graduated with First Class Honours from WAAPA in 2021 and is quickly becoming a rising star on the scene, performing with Perth’s finest musicians.

On the Bass, a veteran of jazz, is Danny Moss Jnr. Growing up around British jazz royalty, Danny spent time with jazz greats such as Tony Bennett, Ruby Braff and Martin Drew. He combines a gorgeous sound on the bass with a worldly sensitivity that you cannot teach without truly living the music.

On the drums, Bronton Ainsworth, is one of Perth’s finest Jazz drummers. Technical brilliance coupled with versatility and an old school sensibility makes for melodic, thoughtful solos and exciting ensemble work.

Please join us for a memorable afternoon of fantastic music!
