Doors 12pm
Show 1pm
Swing Shift Big Band is back at The Ellington with its guilty-pleasures show “The Postmodern Mixtape” but this time it’s a little different!
Perhaps you spent the 80s goovin’ out to Wham!, Madonna or Rick Astley on Saturday night and staying out until the sun came up, but now you’d rather be in bed by the time the main act hits the stage…Well then, do we have THE show for you!
This show contains more 80s goodness than a Chiko Roll and more horns than a New York traffic jam. Marty Pervan’s hip and quirky post-modern arrangements feature all of your favourite pub-rock tunes with a zesty jazz twist. Whether your weakness is Madonna or Cyndi Lauper, The B52s or AC/DC, you’ll hear them all in one nostalgic and unforgettable show and still be home in time for a decent night’s sleep!
Featuring the effervescent Jo Bacon and the outstanding Owen Measday on vocals, backed by 17 hot musicians, cranking out the brassy goodness.
