Blues & Soul to Spice Up Your Life!

Sue Kingham is once again dipping into her considerable wealth of repertoire and bringing back an all-new version of a band she created in the early 2000s, called Mama’s Soulfood Combo! The band performed at The Houghton Winery’s Spring Festival, various Jazz festivals and many other venues!

The evening will feature a smorgasbord of soul-stirring, feel-good music by some of the best blues, soul, jazz and contemporary artists, all served up in new and imaginative ways! The repertoire will include blues songs like “Come On In My Kitchen” and “Many Rivers To Cross” “Since I Fell For You” plus some up-tempo soul numbers including “Light My Fire” and “I Wish I Didn’t Miss You”. A little jazz, a little Aretha and even a few songs which you would be very welcome to add your dulcett vocals too!

The menu will feature

Simon Jeans on Guitar – for that chicken-pickin’, finger-lickin’ sound with a pinch or two of spicy chili!

Bronton Ainsworth on Drums – a tenderised main of clay pot drums with a side order of flavourful percussion

Tim Voutas on Piano – a fresh and lively spring-in-your-step piano with a vibrant, citrus salad dressing

Adam Springhetti on Bass – for that famous death by chocolate bass with the ultimate fat-bottom end

And of course, Sue Kingham on Vocals, for that fizz in the champagne, the cherry on top of the ice-cream sundae, the sparklers on the birthday cake!
