Over the last 25 years Michelle Nicolle has forged a reputation as Australia’s most gifted jazz singer. Her ability to get right to the heart of a song, whilst being a masterful improviser with the technique to match any instrumentalist, has been recognised with a Bell Award (Australian jazz vocal album of the year), Mo Awards, National Jazz Award and she is a 3-time A.R.I.A Finalist. Michelle has toured nationally & internationally with her Quartet and has sung alongside the biggest names in the jazz world including Wynton Marsalis and Kurt Elling.

For her much anticipated return to The Ellington Jazz Club, Michelle will be celebrating her new ABC Jazz release, “10 – MN Live at The Jazzlab”, an album of entirely original songs, recorded at her sold-out Melbourne International Jazz Festival concert last year. Her 10th album release showcases Michelle’s talents as a composer and lyricist of each track on the album. Joined by fabulous Perth musicians, Kristian Borring (guitar), Nick Abbey (bass) and Ben Vanderwal (drums), Michelle will also reflect on some favourite tunes from her other 9 albums.
