Join rising Perth saxophonist Josh Parker as he launches his album ‘The City That Sleeps’ and makes his debut appearance as a bandleader at the Ellington! This young band of up-and-coming musicians will deliver an energetic evening of original jazz(ish) music which deals with themes of isolation, self-reflection and change.
Josh Parker received the graduating honours recital prize from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2024, as well as the ROSL recital prize in both 2022 and 2023. He will be joined by high caliber musicians Chris Kazuki, Flavio Colonetti, Finn McKibbin and Callum Thomson.
The music being presented seeks to combine sonic worlds which have been influential to Josh’s development as a musician, from avant-garde jazz through to alternative folk. Please join us for what will be an enjoyable night of new local music.
